What if everything you thought you knew about cannabis was wrong? Modern high-potency cannabis, with THC levels reaching up to 90% is nothing like the 3% THC weed of the 1970s, and the research is raising serious red flags. From a landmark Lancet Psychiatry study linking “skunk” cannabis to a 5x higher risk of psychosis, to a systematic review of 200,000 people showing doubled violence risk, the science is challenging the idea that cannabis is simply a “chill” drug. We also break down the terrifying rise of synthetic cannabinoids like K2, tragic real-world cases, and what this all means for public health.

High-potency marijuana is not the same drug it was 30 years ago.

In this video, I break down the growing evidence linking today’s high-THC cannabis to rising rates of drug-induced psychosis, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder in the United States and Canada. From 4% THC in the 1990s to 30% flower and 90% concentrates today, the potency has skyrocketed — and so have the risks.

If you think modern cannabis is harmless, this is a conversation you need to hear.
