U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ), Chairman of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Criminal Justice and Counterterrorism, will lead a hearing entitled “Decriminalizing Cannabis at the Federal Level: Necessary Steps to Address Past Harms” on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 2:30 P.M. Booker last week introduced the Cannabis Administration and Opportunity Act, comprehensive legislation that would end the federal cannabis prohibition by removing cannabis from the Controlled Substances Act, empower states to create their own cannabis laws, ensure federal regulation protections public health and safety, and prioritize restorative and economic justice.
