5 US states are set to consider measures next month that would legalize marijuana. Voters in Arkansas, Maryland, Missouri, North Dakota and South Dakota will decide whether recreational marijuana use should be legalized and Church leaders in several of those states are weighing in. Staff writer and podcast producer for Catholic News Agency, Jonah McKeown, joins to share what Church leaders are saying about this measure. In his recent article for Catholic News Agency, McKeown noted even Pope Francis has weighed in on the partial legalization of drugs. McKeown discusses what the Holy Father said. Marijuana use is now legal in 19 states and the District of Columbia. That said, McKeown tells us whether it is known if Church leaders in those areas spoke out ahead of the votes. He explains if there are any poll numbers ahead of the vote this year that give an indication if the measures will pass. He fills us in on what other stories he is following.
