I Tried the UFO Method on Cannabis Seeds… The Results Were INSANE

Seeds
Is soaking cannabis seeds in hydrogen peroxide actually safe, or does it risk ruining the taproot?

In this 72-hour germination experiment, I tested the UFO plate technique combined with a mild H2O2 pre-soak on a Banana Purple Auto seed (Paradise Seeds). The goal: break seed dormancy, sterilize pathogens, and observe whether root emergence accelerates without damaging early seedling vigor.

🔬 THE EXPERIMENT PROTOCOL & RATIOS:
• Seed: Banana Purple Auto (Paradise Seeds)
• Solution: 40 ml distilled water + 15 ml 10-volume hydrogen peroxide (H2O2)
• Stage 1 (0–24h): Submerged soak in complete darkness to soften the outer shell.
• Stage 2 (24–72h): Transfer to a sterilized moist paper towel inside the UFO Method (two sealed ceramic plates) to maintain 100% humidity and total darkness.
• Rule: 72 hours. Zero shortcuts. No opening the plates early.

🌱 WHY HYDROGEN PEROXIDE?
Hydrogen peroxide introduces extra dissolved oxygen to the embryo while breaking down bacterial/fungal spores on the seed coat. But does the UFO method create the ideal microclimate, or does standard soil sowing work just as well?

💬 COMMUNITY DISCUSSION:
What is your go-to germination method: direct into soil, jiffy pellets, or plate/paper towel? Have you tested peroxide on older or hard-to-pop seeds? Let’s discuss in the comments below!
