Lawmakers announce deal on bill to legalize recreational marijuana in NY

Legalization
Lawmakers in New York have announced a deal on a bill to legalize, tax and regulate recreational marijuana in New York State.

The State Assembly and the State Senate will vote on the legislation next week.

The legislation would legalize recreational marijuana sales to adults over the age of 21. The bill would also expunge criminal records for anyone with a previous marijuana conviction.

It would also allow users to grow their own plants at home and allows people to possess up to three ounces of cannabis and 24 ounces of cannabis concentrate.
